Matt and I went to a corn maze with Jerrad, Lisa, Peyton, and Riley. It was a good time. About 5 minutes after this picture was taken, it POURED!!! HAPPY FALL EVERYONE!

Updating the Farm House

New siding on our house! It looks like a brand new house. We are so blessed to have this done.

2nd Annual Hitchings Fall Festival

Well we survived another Hitchings Fall Festival. We really appreciate everyone who helped and brought food. There was a good spread of deer, turkey, buffalo chicken dip, brownies, and so on. After the sun went down, it seemed to get a lot colder but singing karaoke warmed you up. We also had a nice little fireworks display put on by some neighbors.

It was a good time. Matt and I want to say thanks and hope to see you next year.

Remodeling Our Kitchen

NEW KITCHEN!! Matt worked really hard.

Well Matt and I got a wild hair and decided to remodel our kitchen. My mom and dad came down and helped us with the drywall and everything else. Matt and I learned a lot and worked hard. We got a new color on the main wall and a new countertop. That red color is now in our living room too. I painted the south wall and we LOVE it!! Thea came down to help us too. She helped me rearrange things in the kitchen and hang up pictures in the living room. It was a long couple of days but it was worth it at the end. We love our new kitchen! Bon Appetit!!

Harley's 1st Birthday!!

Harley turned 1!!! He had a great time at his birthday party. It seemed he new exactly how to act when opening his presents. It seemed every present he opened his reaction was like the one in this picture. He was really adorable sharing with all the kids at the party too.

HITCHINGS LAKE WEEKEND

Well the Hitchings had another weekend at the Lake of the Ozarks. Andrew got us a really cool log cabin for the night. We bbq and had a good visit. The next day, we took a boat out and got a lot of sun.

Matt and I got to visit my brother and Harley Saturday in Webb City. Kevin took us to the Great Falls in Joplin. It was a nice sunny day.

Matt and I were blessed to have a few days to ourselves. We took Andrew's motorcycle for a little joy ride. We started our journey at Fort Leonard Wood and rode along the Current River. We had a challenge for time ahead of us as the clouds were getting darker behind us. Fortunately we had good timing and stopped for lunch at Eminence, MO when it started raining. When we were done eating, it had stopped raining. The trip took us along the Ozark National Scenic Riverway. It was a beautiful ride. We had a good time and had a safe ride.

Lake of the Ozarks

Hold on!!!! Matt and I went to the Lake of the Ozarks with the Hitchings crew. We had a great time and got a lot of sun.

MMMM MMMM Good!

Matt and I started our summer off with cooking shrimp kabobs!! We bought fresh shrimp down in Florida with the Johnsons last summer. With a little seasoning and veggies, it tasted delicious!!

Morning Visitor

No, it's not a decoy. This is Matt and I's morning visitor. For the past week now, this hen has been coming up in our yard. Bailey likes to sit in front of the door and watch her.

Gone Fishin!!

Matt, Bailey, and I took the boat out on Pomme De Terre crappie fishing. It was a beautiful day. It was Bailey's first boat ride and she loved it!!! We didn't catch many fish but it was a nice afternoon on the lake.

Ready for Spring!!!

Bailey is ready for SPRING!!We have had some prayers answered this week. It's awesome when we stop in our busy lives and smell the flowers. Just look at God's beautiful creations.

Valentine's Day Ski Trip

Mary and I have been blessed enough the last couple winters to take a couple trips to ski in Colorado. We didn't make it this year, so decided we would stay closer to home and take an evening to ski at Hidden Valley Ski Area near St. Louis. So for Valentine's Day, we hit the slopes and had a nice night away.

Of course the resort is nothing like out West, but it does have a pretty good slope and some good runs. Because of the lack of natural snow this year, all the snow was man-made. That made the terrain very icy and treacherous at places. We made all the runs, although Mary almost died in a wipe-out on the most difficult, black diamond run. I continued to ski until my legs gave out while she waited at the lodge by the firepit. She's a little sore, but is still walking and excited for the next trip out west.

The Beginning

Well, Mary and I decided it was finally time to catch up with the youngsters and start "blogging." Actually, Tim and Megan came up with a blog and doesn't everybody strive to KEEP UP WITH THE JOHNSONS? We are not really sure what we will ever share on here, as our lives are relatively boring, but we can always lie and make things up. So enjoy!
